Energy codes are being regularly updated to push buildings further down the path to Zero Net Energy. Acceptance Testing and Commissioning are part of most medium-and large-size projects, and integration with other systems happens often.
Additionally, the development of integrated Motorized Shading brings a new element to the concept of Light Control. Because of these changes, it’s time to admit that, like all the other contract documents, a Lighting Control and Motorized Shading “Sequence of Operation” is required.

The presentation objectives:

• Understand why Sequences of Operations are now crucial in Lighting and Shade Control.
• Be able to describe the Desired Goals when putting together Sequences of Operation and the different formats that can be used to do this.
• List several of the critical items that need to be described in Lighting and Shade Control Sequences of Operation
Justify the need to add a Sequence of Operation documentation for every project.

Britton Dickey has 12+ years in lighting and controls. 10+ years of leadership of sales and service teams. Involved in multiple transformational initiatives at Legrand, including developing Legrand’s Factory Authorized Service Provider Program (FASP) and Vertical Services team. Provides design and specification consultation for code-compliant lighting controls and shading solutions. Currently working in Legrand’s Building Control Systems division as Regional Specification Sales Manager.
