IES Nashville Section Meeting | Metro Nashville and Davidson County Exterior Lighting Code

Join us for our monthly lunch meeting on 3/19/25. We hope to see you all there!
Session Description: An update on the history and necessity of the Metro Nashville and Davidson County exterior lighting code designed to reduce light pollution and light trespass.
Lunch: $20 for members, $25 for non-members, and $10 for students.

Burkley Allen, Council At-Large
Now serving her fourth term on the council, Burkley has sponsored legislation about outdoor music, bike/pedestrian safety, stormwater, short term rental, and affordable housing. She was awarded Walk Bike Nashville’s Kibby Clayton Award for her work on sidewalks, greenways, and bikeways, and was listed in the Nashville Post’s In Charge List for Government and Politics. Burkley is an alum of Leadership Nashville and was included in the Nashville Scene’s Best Council Member category twice.
Burkley is a board member of Sister Cities of Nashville and Rebuilding Together Nashville, an elder at Second Presbyterian church, and a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers, Urban Land Institute, Leadership Nashville, Tennessee Women in Green, and the US Green Building Council. She volunteers for Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity, and Room in the Inn.
