Belmont's Fisher Building LED & Controls Walkthrough
March 15, 2023
2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Belmont University’s Fisher Center for the Performing Arts represent a state-of-the-art multi-purpose performance facility that embraces the latest technologies in energy-efficiency lighting and control systems. Throughout the main performance space, lobbies, and multi-function ballrooms, not a single line-voltage dimmer has been installed. All performance lighting equipment utilizes LED technology controlled via sACN , DMX-512, and 0-10V protocols.
During the tour, aside from learning about the history of the facility development and evolving uses, you will experience the following:
- Learn how a modern multi-use performance facility can function without the use of line-voltage dimming, and how a carefully planned lighting network can create intelligent and powerful data distribution systems over large-scale areas, and how the integration of REMOTE DEVICE MANAGEMENT allows the facility staff to modify the layout based on the needs of a specific performance.
- See how modern, intelligent control systems allow various modes-of-operation to exist within a single performance space at the same time, and how user-friendly configurations can allow manageable control over such highly powerful and complicated systems in whole-building applications.
- Learn about the other theatrical systems installed, including the counterweight rigging system, multi-tiered orchestra pit, audio systems, and orchestra shell – and how they are all managed by the facility staff.
In addition, guests will obtain hands-on operation of modern performance lighting control systems, and try your hand at creating entertainment-style scenes and presets.
Please note that during the tour, the stage will be undergoing an active load in for the Belmont University Music Theatre Department’s production of “BEAUTY and the BEAST”. Some areas of the production facility may require enhanced theatre safety protocols.
